
After all the controversy with SOPA and PIPA earlier this and last year, it’s refrshing to see a new piece of legislation making it’s way through Congress. I am of course talking about the first American bill to actually support online sharing, namely the Support Online Archiving of Publications Act (or SOAPA for short). Everything you need to know about the Act is available at here (soapa.org), where you can also sign a petition that will be sent to the US State Department in support of the bill.
All we ask is that you take some time to read the information over at soapa.org and help raise awareness for this legislation that seeks to keep the internet free and uncensored in the future.

For some people across the World, such as those in New Zealand and Australia, the clock has already struck twelve and the year 2012 has begun. We therefore wish all those fortunate enough to be living in the future (hopefully you the World hasn’t ended), and those currently living in the past/present, waiting in eager anticipation of the 1st January, a very Happy New Year!
